On November 11th, during a ceremony at the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), 60 Italian mayors from Emilia Romagna region officially signed the European Covenant 2030 targets.
The Covenant cities (list available here) decided to align their objectives with the new European's targets for energy and climate by renewing their commitments to fight climate change.
The ceremony was hosted by the President of the Italian Delegation at the CoR. It was part of a two-day trip to Brussels organized by the municipal councilor of Castelnuovo Rangone (Modena) Benedetta Brighenti, with the support of Modena's Energy and Sustainable Development Agency.
After the ceremony, the mayors attended a workshop where the different available instruments to finance climate action at local level were presented.
